Robin Petré is a Danish film director, writer, and moving image artist based in Copenhagen. Her work explores the friction points within human-animal relations, the visceral resonances of longing and estrangement, and how our culture, perception, and imagination depend inextricably on the more-than-human world.
Her film ONLY ON EARTH (2025) premiered at the Berlin International Film Festival with a nomination for the Berlinale Documentary Award. The film went on to win the Best Nordic Documentary Award at the Nordisk Panorama Film Festival, earned a Grierson Award nomination at the BFI London Film Festival, and received an IDA Award for Best Sound Design. Her award-winning feature-length debut, FROM THE WILD SEA (2021), also premiered in Berlin with a Berlinale Documentary Award nomination, and her short film, PULSE (2016), won the Silver Dove for An Outstanding Artistic Contribution at DOK Leipzig.
An alumna of Berlinale Talents, the Sundance Institute, and Nordic Film Lab, she holds a Master of Arts in Documentary Film Directing from Doc Nomads.
